Skop Flash Race – Event Details

Place: Fort Schanskop hill at the Voortrekker Monument Reserve. (Click here for map)

Time: 2pm. Racing from aproximately 3:30pm. Slide Jam after racing if there is time. We’ll be there until about 6pm. 

Entry Fee: There is a small entry fee at the gate to get into the VTM Reserve. You’ll need another R30 to skate whether you want to race or just freeride (pays for shuttle etc.). Sign-up on the day. 

Rules: No skating at this spot outside of an organised session. Only skate with the group. Break the rules and you risk blowing the spot and ruining it for everyone. More detail on the rules here: http://forum.longboardingsa.co.za/guateng/skop-rules-and-etiquette/

Details: We’ll run a few rounds of round robin just for fun and to seed everyone. Finals will be 4 man heats, top two from each heat go through to the next round. Beginners are welcome, this is the best environment to learn. No one will be forced to race but the more people racing, the more fun it will be fore everyone. 

What to bring: Skateboard, wheels for going fast, wheels for going sideways, sunblock, refreshments and stoke!
