Plett Downhill Rage Event Details
With a total of R10 000 up for grabs thanks to Sector 9 South Africa, the Plett Downhill Rage has the highest prize purse of any of the races in South Africa! Although the prize purse matches that of King of the Fort which was held in June this year, at KOTF the prize money was shared between 6 categories whereas at Plett Downhill Rage there is only one category so the winner goes home with a massive 4K! Second place gets R3000, third gets R2000 and fourth gets R1000.
On top of the cash prizes, the fastes person in time trials gets a Nixon watch! And we’re pretty sure there will be some other SWAG being handed out if the reputation of the organizers is anything to go by.
This event will be held over just one day, the 30th of November but it looks like they have kept the 29th open as an “Alternative Weather Day”. So if the weather report says rain for the Sunday the race will be held on the Saturday. So you know you’ll get your moneys worth no matter the weather.

The entry fee is R400

Note that this event is not affiliated with SAGRA in any way so don’t pay your entry fee to the wrong people.
Registration:
Registration is at The Table Restaurant on the 28th of November. The event launch party will be there too starting at 5pm.
Schedule:
7am to 9am – Practice.
9am to 6pm – Racing. (assuming time trials will be run first but those details are not available yet)
Venue:
The race is held on the Odlands Hill in Plettenberg Bay. Here is a Google Map.
Accommodation:
There are two accomodation options offered by the organisers as follows:
Tent, mattress and food included (bring your own sleeping bag and pillow) – R820 per person for 3 nights.
Bring your own Tent, food and bedding – R400 per person for 3 nights.
